(Re-)connect with my Telraam v1 device through the hotspot

In order to connect your device to the internet via your WiFi, you will first have to connect a separate device, like a mobile phone or personal computer, to the ‘hotspot’ on the Telraam device. The hotspot is a local wireless network that allows you to connect two or more devices. This article will show you how to do this.

What will I need?

    Access to the Telraam device

A device that can connect to the internet (like a computer, mobile phone or tablet).

Step 1 - Unplug the device, then restart it

1️⃣    Remove the power cable from the wall socket and then from the Telraam device.

2️⃣    Plug the power cable into the side of the Telraam (as shown) and then plug it into the wall socket.

3️⃣    Check if you see a red and green light. When the Telraam is first powered, the red light will light up continuously and the green light will start blinking.

4️⃣    Wait to see the green light turn off which should only take about  30 seconds. The red light should still be on continuously.  When the Telraam is up and running a hotspot is created.

Please note that this hotspot (named TELRAAM) remains visible only +- 10min. If you wait too long, you have to redo the previous steps.

Step 2 - Connect to the hotspot network "Telraam"

5️⃣    Using your second device (mobile phone, tablet or computer) open the Wi-Fi network connections in your settings.

6️⃣   Find and select the "TELRAAM" network. You will need to enter the following password:TelraamTelraam

Once your mobile phone is connected to the Telraam hotspot, you will get a message saying that you are connected but do not have internet. This is not a problem.

Step 3 - Access to my.telraam.net settings

7️⃣   Open an Internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.)

As you are not connected to the internet but to the local hotpspot, you may see an error message or blank page, but this is to be expected. If your device defaults back to your wifi connection instead, then please repeat Step 2 above to connect to the Telraam hotspot.

8️⃣   Visit  my.telraam.net on this device (you will need to type this address into the navigation bar). You will be directed to the settings page (see picture below). If my.telraam.net cannot be reached for any reason, try http://192.168.254.1.

9️⃣   Once you see the page then you are connected to the Telraam hotspot. Select your language and proceed.

What can you do next?

➡️   Check or update the camera view

➡️   (Re-)Connect your Telraam device to the internet

➡️   Verify serial number

Still having issues?

❌  There is no Telraam Hotspot visible

❌   During the installation, particularly if a step is delayed, your Telraam hotspot connection can be lost and your device  will re-connect to your wifi network. If it does this, simply start again at step 1 to reinitialise the hotspot and to connect to it.
