If you find you need to restart or reboot your Telraam regularly, or you see the Telraam restarts itself then there might be a problem with the device or with the adapter.
Step 1 - A problem with the adapter?
Check if the problem is due to the adapter.
You can check whether your Telraam's malfunction is due to the power adapter by testing whether the problem disappears when you use a different adapter. This can be done with most smartphone adapters. You will need a (short) USB to micro-USB cable. The adapter must have an output of 5V and 2.5A (you should find this printed on the adapter).
❗️ We have been made aware that there can be a problem with some power adapters shipped with Telraam units. It seems that these are not always able to supply enough voltage, which sometimes causes the Telraam device to fail.
❓ How to spot this?
The small red light on the device does not stay on permanently.
It is impossible to connect to the Telraam wifi network. Or the Telraam wifi network is not visible when the connection is made (after waiting up to 1 minute).
The device regularly shuts down and then restarts automatically.
If this test solves the problem you will need to use an alternative adapter. If you are part of a Telraam counting network, then please get in touch at support@telraam.net and we arrange a new adapter as soon as possible. If you purchased or built your own device, then you should be able to source a suitable Raspberry Pi charger adapter from a local stockist or use a suitable alternative.
Step 2 - A problem with the Telraam device itself
If changing the power adapter did not fix the issue then there might be a problem with the Telraam itself.
In this case, please send an email to support@telraam.net with a description of the problem and its symptoms in as much details as possible. We will then investigate whether the problem is related to the Telraam itself. If you are part of a Telraam counting network, then we may be able to replace your device.
